About the HC Myrtle House
The Henry C. Myrtle House was constructed to the elegant, artistic ideals favored by late nineteenth century Victorians. The Italiante style was popular from 1850 through 1880 and began in england as part of the “picturesque” movement. The house retains substantial integrity to its period of significance and remains an impressive architectural residential building in the town of Bath. The house and outbuildings retain their original craftsmanship and character defining architectural elements, such as tall, narrow windows with elaborate lintels and a low-pitched roof with wide overhanging eaves and decorative brackets.
